The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive a world first.

Designed to encourage the switch to more sustainable sources of heating our homes and hot water; the RHI attracts quarterly payments for 7 years for the low carbon part of your heating system. In effect, this offsets the cost of the more sophisticated renewable system bringing it into line with a simple boiler replacement.

An Air Source Heat Pump heating system for a three bedroom semi-detached house can expect around £500 per year in payments, and dramatic savings on your heating bills, especially if you are off the mains gas grid.

A Solar Thermal Hot Water system will attract as much as £300 per annum and provide free hot water for 60% of the year. Of course another method of heating water is required for the colder months of the year.

You will need a Green Deal Assessment and an Energy Performance Certificate as well as an MCS certificate to apply to join the scheme. It is essential that you use an MCS registered installer and appliance to ensure you meet the
requirements.
